Wounded Animal Policy
The wounding policy is in place to ensure that when you come to camp your weapon is sighted in and you are proficient with it. Every effort will be made to find a wounded animal. In the event that the animal is not recovered, a $1000 fee will be required to continue hunting. Losing an animal is the last thing that anyone wants.
Why Hunt in Western Canada
Western Canada offers a distinct advantage for black bear hunters because the overall hunting pressure is lower than many other regions. In areas with less pressure, bears tend to behave more naturally — giving you more time to observe their behavior, judge size with confidence, and make ethical decisions in the field. These extended, calm encounters can turn a good hunt into a truly memorable one.
While hunts in Western Canada may require additional travel and investment, many hunters find that the experience — more time with the animal, better assessment opportunities, and fewer pressured bears — is well worth it.
